Depression

Clinical Depression is a very real and very common medical condition. It is reported that around 10% of the US population is suffering from depression at any given time. Even with it being so common there are still major misconceptions that go along with the label of being "depressed". Friends and family of someone suffering from depression can often feel like they are seeking attention, or being over-dramatic. The phrase "snap out of it" is common in these situations. However clinical depression is very real, very painful and the person suffering from it needs treatment.

Below you will find information about treatment and medications that can help relieve the symptoms of depression. keep in mind though that one can have different experiences with clinical depression, including a wide-range of symptoms, and the severity of these symptoms. In addition, not every treatment and/or medication will have the same effect. With the variance in responses to these medications and treatments be sure to work closely with your doctor to find the correct treatment plan for you.
